Community Action
Native Plant Day
Our annual public outreach and education event will have something for all ages: exhibitors (organizations / agencies / businesses) with educational display tables, native plant and merchandise vendors, speaker series, landscape professionals, raffles, live music, children’s activities, artists, bird walks, food trucks, opportunities for networking / socializing, and more.
Join us and learn about South Florida native plants and wildlife, how to attract birds and butterflies to your yard, landscaping with native plants, our natural areas, the environment, and more.
There’s much more at this large park, especially for children: enjoy the Farm Village, which provides an opportunity to learn about Miami-Dade County’s agricultural past. It’s a replica of the kinds of farms that once dotted three-quarters of the region. There’s even a barn with farm animals you can visit.
Tom Sawyer’s Play Island is a fort-style tree house with climbers, spinners, slides, balance beams, swings, and musical instruments to play. The playground is designed for children ages 2-12 and is fully accessible.
Bring your family and friends to enjoy this free day of fun and learning! FREE! Rain or Shine!
