Behind the Tap: Inside Miami’s Water System
This exclusive Miami Climate Week tour offers a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most critical pieces of infrastructure in South Florida.
Participants will explore how drinking water travels from the Biscayne Aquifer to homes and businesses across Miami-Dade County. The tour will walk through the treatment process, safety systems, and resilience measures that ensure over two million residents have access to clean, reliable water every day.
Attendees will also learn how climate change, sea level rise, saltwater intrusion, and extreme weather events are influencing the future of water management in Miami and what it takes to protect our region’s most essential resource.
