Community Action
Razing Liberty Square Screening and Climate Panel
Join us March 26th at 6:30 PM in the Frost Seminar Room for the campus premiere of Razing Liberty Square, a documentary on race, housing, and climate change in Miami. Miami is ground-zero for sea-level-rise. When residents of the Liberty Square public-housing community learn about a $300 million revitalization project in 2015, they know that their neighborhood is located on the highest-and-driest ground in the city. Now they must prepare to fight a new form of racial injustice – Climate Gentrification.
The screening will be followed by a panel featuring local climate experts:
Caroline Lewis, The CLEO Institute
Valencia Gunder, The Smile Trust
