Nick’s powerful artwork transforms salvaged Dade-County pine, a disappearing piece of South Florida’s natural and cultural heritage, into thought-provoking pieces that explore themes of resilience, loss, and our deep connection to the land.
In this presentation, Nick will delve into the intersection of nature, culture, and sustainability, encouraging us to reflect on how our landscapes shape our lives and how we, in turn, impact them. Discover the vital role native pines play in our ecosystems. Learn how integrating slash pine and its companion plants into urban spaces can enhance biodiversity, strengthen resilience, and support climate-conscious gardening practices.
