MDCC PTA School Food Recovery Event
Did you know U.S. schools throw away a staggering $5 million worth of food every single day? And shockingly, our schools are the number one source of food waste in the county!
We’re teaming up with the World Wildlife Fund’s Food Waste Warriors program, local composting heroes, Debris Free Oceans, and the University of Miami’s EcoTeam to bring you a hands-on, eye-opening event.
Food is too valuable to waste – let’s stop burning and burying it! We’ll show you how to set up food share tables, food donation program, composting programs, and reusable service ware to reduce hazardous single-use plastic. Come learn how to recover this resource for the triple bottom line: people, planet, and prosperity.
